Privacy & Terms
Last updated 21 October 2026
EarthMC Toolkit is an unofficial fan project. It is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by EarthMC. NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.
Privacy, in short
- No accounts, no passwords. "Signing in" only saves your Minecraft username in your browser.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing records which pages you visit.
- Your data stays in your browser, unless you turn on background alerts (below). The names of players you watch are sent (not stored) to look up their usual online times.
What is saved on your device
In your browser's own storage, and nowhere else:
- Your username and the towns, nations and players you watch
- Your settings, theme and notification choices
- Your event inbox (🔔) and calculator history
- Things you write or save yourself: map pins, calendar events, saved land and notes about nations
- Your last few picks from 🔍 Search everything (Ctrl+K), so they're one tap away next time
- Trading-post items you list
- Downloaded EarthMC data and one saved copy of the claims a day, so the map loads fast and can show history
- A copy of the app itself, so it can open without a connection
- If you use "Verify it's you": the proof token the alert server gave this device
- Readings of how many players were online, for the Server tab's charts
Settings → Clear downloaded data only removes the downloaded EarthMC data, and signing out only forgets your username. To delete everything, clear this site's data in your browser settings (uninstalling the app usually does the same).
What gets sent where
To show you anything, the app has to ask these services for it. Each request goes from your browser, so they can see your IP address, as with any website:
- api.earthmc.net — town, nation, player and server data. When you look up a player or sign in, that username is sent to it.
- map.earthmc.net — map images and live player positions.
- earthmc.net — the official blog's news feed, for the News tab. Nothing about you is sent.
- mc-heads.net — player face pictures. The player's name or ID is part of the request.
- unpkg.com — the map library (Leaflet).
- emc-push.leospear13.workers.dev — the Toolkit's own alert server. Every visitor's app asks it for recent vote-party history and hourly players-online counts (no personal data is sent; the server records only the server-wide totals). When you have players on your watchlist or in-game friends, their names are sent to it to look up when they're usually online. Your watchlist and push address are only stored there if you turn on background alerts (below). It also runs the helper and "Verify it's you" (both below).
- earthmctoolkit.pages.dev share links (
/t/…,/n/…,/p/…) — when a link is opened or previewed (for example by Discord), the site asks EarthMC for that town, nation or player's public stats to build the preview. Nothing is stored.
The helper (❓ Help → ✨ Ask, optional)
When you ask the helper something, your question is sent to the Toolkit's alert server, which passes it to an AI model run by Cloudflare Workers AI and sends back the answer. For "Tips for my town" (or a question about "my town"), your town's public numbers — name, nation, residents, chunks, bank and status, all visible on the map anyway — go with it; a question about vote parties or who's online also takes the server's public player and vote counts, and a question like "how do I use this?" says which tab of the Toolkit you have open. The Toolkit doesn't store questions or answers with anything about you; Cloudflare processes them under its own terms. A general question with nothing of yours attached (like the quick buttons) may have its answer kept in the server's memory for up to six hours, so the next person asking the same thing gets it straight away. 👍 / 👎 under an answer sends that question and answer back only so the server can check it really gave that answer, then adds one to a count of good and bad answers — nothing else is kept. To stop anyone flooding it, the server remembers your IP address in memory for about ten minutes (it isn't saved). Answers are checked by a second safety model before you see them, and can still be wrong. Don't type personal information into it.
"Verify it's you" (optional)
Verifying proves a Minecraft name is yours: you put a short code in your in-game about, and the alert server reads your about from EarthMC's public data. If it matches, the server keeps one record for that player — their Minecraft ID and when they last verified (so a newer verification replaces older ones) — and gives this device a signed proof. No password, email or account is involved.
Background alerts (optional, off by default)
If you switch on background alerts, your browser's push address and your watchlist (towns, nations and players, plus which alert types you want, your quiet hours, reminder time and time zone) are stored on the Toolkit's alert server, so it can check for changes while the app is closed. An alert that can't be delivered straight away (quiet hours, a busy moment) waits there for up to two hours. Turning the switch off deletes your details from that server. Nothing else about you is stored there.
Feedback, support and other links
- 💬 Send feedback writes an email in your own mail app (or copies the text for you). Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself, and the Toolkit doesn't keep a copy.
- The optional ☕ Support the Toolkit link opens a Greenlight payment page (gl.me). The Toolkit never sees or handles payments; anything you enter there goes to Greenlight under its own terms. Donating is optional and doesn't unlock anything.
- The vote button opens EarthMC's own vote page (earthmc.net).
Those services have their own privacy policies. EarthMC also lets players keep their own details out of its public data with /api opt-out in game.
Children
The Toolkit doesn't ask for your age, real name, email or anything that identifies you in real life, and it doesn't have chat between players. Please don't put personal information in trading-post listings or in questions to the helper.
Terms of use
- Free, as-is. The Toolkit is free during 2026. It comes with no guarantee: data can be late, missing or wrong, so double-check anything important in game before you act on it.
- Play fair. Follow EarthMC's own rules. Don't use the Toolkit to harass players, and don't try to overload the Toolkit, EarthMC's data server or the map server.
- Names and trademarks. EarthMC belongs to its owners, and Minecraft to Mojang and Microsoft. Town, nation and player names come from EarthMC's public data.
- Changes. Features and these terms may change. Big changes will be announced in What's New.
